- Open reviewBodycam is one of those games I believed in almost immediately. When I first saw the reveal trailer, I genuinely thought some of the footage was real. The graphics are absolutely insane and, in my opinion, probably the most realistic I’ve seen in a video game. The environments, weapon animations, movement and overall presentation create an incredible sense of realism. The multiplayer is probably the weakest part for me. I don’t always feel that level of competitiveness or depth that I would expect from a multiplayer shooter, and there are still some mechanics that could definitely be improved. The gore is another aspect that I think needs some work. I understand that making completely realistic damage and body reactions could have a huge technical impact, especially in multiplayer, but it would still be nice to see it improved. I also understand the decision to blur faces, since reproducing realistic human faces at this level is extremely difficult and could easily break the illusion. Despite these flaws, the technology behind Bodycam is incredible. It’s still an Early Access game, and seeing how much the developers are continuing to improve it makes me very optimistic about its future. The upcoming Locked & Loaded update looks particularly promising, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how much it improves the experience.
