- Open reviewHonestly, I jumped into it full of excitement because it combines the style reminiscent of old Disney animations (actually, two distinct eras of them) with a horror atmosphere. Turns out, it had even more to offer me than I expected. I can absolutely understand most of the criticisms aimed at it. It never quite breaks free from its Point & Click roots, yet it’s also not fully designed as a Point & Click game, so it fails to execute its mechanics exactly as envisioned. I totally get that. But while playing, I couldn’t help but notice all the clever ideas sprinkled throughout — the developers clearly tried to introduce different mechanics and offer varied experiences. That not only kept me from losing interest (even though it might feel like a bit of a jumble to some) but also made me hopeful for what they’ll do next. Story-wise, I think it delivers a narrative that both carries the atmosphere this genre needs and helps you connect with the characters. And it presents all that in a way that complements those strengths. Finally, I’ll just say — I’ll always welcome any game that channels that Clock Tower-like spirit.
