Questions

Will importing overwrite my ratings or reviews?

No. Games you've already logged on Firetale are skipped, so nothing you've written or scored is replaced.

Do I need to give Firetale my PlayStation, Xbox or Steam password?

No. PlayStation, Xbox and GOG use your public ID or username, and Steam uses Valve's own Sign in with Steam. You don't give Firetale your source-account password or cookies.

How do I get a Backloggd export?

Use Toolkittd (formerly Backloggd Plus), an independent browser extension. Its export tool appears in Backloggd's Settings → Data Management. Choose JSON to keep detailed statuses, platforms and multiple playthroughs. CSV is accepted, but only includes the first playthrough per game. Firetale's import screen includes setup instructions.

What happens to remasters, special editions and bundles?

Ports and special editions count as the main game, so your library doesn't fill up with duplicates. Bundles such as remaster collections are split into the individual games they contain.

What if a game isn't matched?

It's listed at the end of the import so you can see exactly what didn't come across. When it's linked to the right game, later imports pick it up automatically.

Can I take my data out of Firetale later?

Yes. Settings › Import & Export offers CSV and JSON downloads for your game logs, plus a full account JSON backup that includes your lists. Re-import supports game logs; it does not restore lists or account settings.
