The underrated status of this entry within the series genuinely saddens me.
I can understand the sentiment of wishing it had been released as a game separate from Silent Hill—it might have benefited from that—but it’s far from being one of the weaker entries in the series. In fact, I believe it’s one of the best.
From its story to its mechanics, presentation to characters, it claimed a permanent place in my heart after just one playthrough.
