When this game first came out, I was curious about the concept but ultimately found it flat and boring. I especially felt like it couldn't stand out among the games of its time. Honestly, it stayed that way in my mind for years.
Since games like this aren't as common anymore, I recently had the chance to revisit it. Turns out, it's much more enjoyable than I remembered. I wouldn't call it a classic or a hidden gem, but I don't regret going back to play it.
I guess this is becoming a pattern for me with DON'T NOD games—I keep liking them more every time I return.
