If we’re talking about the current era, there’s an undercurrent pushing shooters up in popularity, and as a result we’re seeing plenty of boomer shooters. Robocop carries this style cleanly — it doesn’t try to stand out by doing something new, or by offering a story or setting we’ve never seen before, but it is executed very well.
Where it does stand out is here: it respects both the relatively popular franchise it’s based on and the genre it belongs to. Combine that with above-average production values, and you get a clean, straightforward, well-made game.
