I actually played Deltarune Chapter 2 fairly recently—partly so it’d feel fresh when Chapters 3 and 4 release. But since it had been quite a while since Chapter 1—and because I got caught up in the excitement—I ended up replaying the whole thing when the new release came out.
Even though Chapter 1 had already made a strong impression on me after Undertale, Chapter 2 removed any lingering doubt. Still, I wasn’t expecting it to hit me as hard as it did.
I honestly still can’t fully wrap my head around how a game can communicate this much feeling through every single part of itself.
I know for many people, this game needs no explanation. But I can’t help saying this: if you don’t love Deltarune, you must be actively fighting yourself. Just sit down and surrender to it. Once you do, you’ll realize—you’re not just playing Deltarune, you’re a part of it.
