I played the full package, so I’m speaking from that experience. Like many others, the game first caught my heart with its visual design and theme. It had been on my list for a long time because of how popular it is, but I didn’t get the chance to dive in until recently.
I should also mention that instead of playing it in big, focused sessions, I finished it gradually over a longer period of time. Even under those conditions, the game absolutely lives up to its popularity. Both the roguelike and dungeon crawler elements feel very polished. Mechanically, it’s a very clean experience, and the way it fully commits to its theme and tone elevates it even further. Managing the cult was just as enjoyable as the action itself.
