First of all, Dragon Ball FighterZ is genuinely a good game.
As a fighting game, it offers enjoyable mechanics and manages to appeal to both newcomers and players who want to dive deeper. It has that “easy to learn, hard to master” structure that keeps both sides satisfied.
Visually, it brilliantly blends the cell-shaded style we’re used to seeing in Dragon Ball games with a 2D presentation. Combined with the smooth animations, it’s almost impossible not to get hyped during any action scene. And speaking of hype, the soundtrack supports this energy exceptionally well.
When it comes to the story, the game presents a unique, original narrative and does so in a very entertaining way. It offers the right amount of fan service, plenty of new content, and an overall plot that stays true to the spirit of the series.
All in all, it’s a strong title both as a fighting game and as a single-player experience. Thanks to its solid amount of content, it has managed to stay relevant for years without losing its appeal.
