Silksong is truly an exceptional game, and it’s clear that it arrives with an extra layer of polish compared to the first one. In fact, let me take a moment to praise the original as well: when you compare Silksong to Hollow Knight, the overall design philosophy remains remarkably similar. For most games, that could easily create the impression of a title built with the mindset of seven or eight years ago—something outdated or stuck in the past.
But Team Cherry’s work proves just how timeless their design really is. Even in 2025, Silksong never feels old or out of step; instead, it delivers the same sense of freshness and craftsmanship that defined the first game, just elevated. And meeting the weight of so many years of anticipation is no easy task. The fact that Silksong manages to do so deserves serious praise.
