I never fully understood the small wave of hate around this game. I’m guessing the demo and its brief viral popularity created expectations that it was never really trying to meet.
I had a great time with it. The parkour and platforming mechanics feel very fluid, and completing sections gives a satisfying sense of momentum and payoff. I do think the experience could’ve been stronger if it had been more focused, possibly even removing the enemies entirely and leaning fully into platforming and boss encounters.
Even so, from its visual style to its atmosphere and mechanics, it ended up being a genuinely satisfying experience for me. I can’t call it perfect, but it doesn’t need to be. It found the right notes to leave an impression on me.
