Unfortunately, this one ends up feeling like the middle chapter, and it's hard not to see it in the shadow of the first game. I also think the story is noticeably weaker this time around, but that certainly doesn't make it a bad game.
It might not be the best choice to play immediately after Metro 2033, since the comparison is hard to avoid, but it's still a worthwhile stop for anyone who enjoys the series.
