Portal (PC) - A Retrospective Review
There isn’t all that much to talk about, really. I feel a little ashamed that it took me this long to play such a classic. I played it on the ROG Ally and it was a smooth experience, probably because the game is 18 years old lol. But honestly, if an indie studio released this game today, I don’t think I’d say a single thing about it feeling old.
I honestly can’t think of many downsides to this game. The puzzles are fun, and the balance between challenge and reward is really well designed. The story, setting, and atmosphere are all great. The game ends in about 1 to 1.5 hours and doesn’t overstay its welcome, which is a good thing.
In the end, Portal didn’t blow my mind or change my perspective on games, but it gave me a genuinely great time. Back in 2007, it must have been an unforgettable experience.
"8.5/10"
