Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is one of the best entries in the entire series. I’ve played almost every Assassin’s Creed game, excluding the 2D titles, and Odyssey is definitely one of the ones that stood out to me the most.
While I think the major gameplay shift technically started with Syndicate, Odyssey is where I truly felt that new direction reach its full potential. The gameplay feels much more developed, the world is beautifully designed, and the map is incredibly detailed and well crafted.
My main criticism would be the side quests, which I found somewhat repetitive and lacking compared to the rest of the game. That said, the DLCs and additional content were also very enjoyable and added a lot to the overall experience.
Definitely one of the best Assassin’s Creed games, although I wouldn’t call it the absolute best.
