The beginning of what I consider one of the greatest gaming franchises ever made. Assassin’s Creed is obviously quite dated nowadays, but it remains a very memorable experience and an important milestone for the series.
Its gameplay was incredibly innovative for its time, introducing mechanics and ideas that would later become fundamental to the Assassin’s Creed formula. Even though many of these mechanics were reused and refined in the following games, there was something genuinely original and brilliant about the way the first game put everything together.
