In my opinion, Dark Souls III is the best game in the Dark Souls trilogy. It feels like the most polished and refined version of the formula, with incredibly smooth combat and some of the best bosses in the series.
The boss design is probably one of the strongest aspects of the game. The fights are challenging but generally feel fair, and many of them are genuinely memorable. The level design is also great, with plenty of secrets and areas worth exploring.
I also really like how the game brings together many elements from the previous titles while giving the trilogy a proper conclusion. It may not reinvent the formula, but it perfects many of the things that made Dark Souls great in the first place. Overall, one of my favorite FromSoftware games.
