Bloodborne is an incredible game and, in my opinion, one of FromSoftware’s best works. The atmosphere is absolutely phenomenal, with its dark Gothic setting, disturbing creatures, and Lovecraftian influences creating a world that feels completely unique.
The combat is also one of its strongest aspects. It encourages a much more aggressive playstyle than the Dark Souls games, and the faster pace makes every encounter feel intense and satisfying. The weapon transformations are also a fantastic addition, giving the combat a lot of variety without making it feel unnecessarily complicated.
The boss fights are memorable, the world is beautifully interconnected, and the story and lore are incredibly deep, especially if you take the time to explore and piece everything together yourself. Bloodborne doesn’t explain everything to you, and that makes discovering its secrets even more rewarding.
There are a few flaws, but they are minor compared to everything the game does right. For me, Bloodborne is one of FromSoftware’s finest games and easily one of the best Souls experiences ever made.
