BioShock is one of those games that really stands out because of its atmosphere and world. Rapture is an incredible setting, with a unique art style and an oppressive atmosphere that makes exploration genuinely fascinating. The story is also one of the strongest aspects of the game, with a very interesting narrative and some memorable twists.
The gameplay is enjoyable, especially thanks to the combination of weapons and Plasmids, which gives you different ways to approach combat. However, this is probably where the game shows its age the most. Some mechanics feel dated, and the combat isn’t quite as impressive as the story and world surrounding it.
Despite that, BioShock is still a fantastic experience and a game that I think is worth playing even today. Its atmosphere, storytelling, and worldbuilding make it a very memorable game, even if the gameplay itself isn’t perfect.
