In some ways, experiencing Mediterranea Inferno first might have worked against this game, because there are definitely aspects where it builds upon similar ideas. Even so, I found the themes and characters here much easier to connect with on a personal level.
It carves out a wonderfully niche identity among visual novels, with a distinctive visual language and a narrative style that complements it perfectly. This is more of a thought for after playing both games, but I have a feeling this creative voice could tell many different kinds of stories and still make them compelling.
