After replaying it, I can confidently call this the Call of Juarez: Gunslinger of the Prince of Persia series—the only difference being that it came out at the wrong time, in the wrong era for the franchise. Even though I love the Sands of Time trilogy, I remember loving this one as well for its distinct aesthetic and the different direction it took. Looking at it today, I actually think it has aged better in many ways. With just a bit of refinement—smoother platforming and more varied duels—it could still feel amazing to play even now. As a standalone experience, it also tells a solid story. The dialogue might come off as a bit cheap, but if you can embrace that slightly cheesy tone, it’s not really an issue.
