    Esoteric Ebb was so much fun! I didn't read a single book all week because apparently I can only handle so much reading at a time, and I'm a slow reader to begin with. The Cleric's inner voices being D&D stats was entertaining af. I loved spending time with them! Took me 30 hours to finish, but absolutely worth it.

    Yes—Disco Elysium and D&D, but… This isn’t a game about grand speeches (even though it has some) or deep philosophical introspection. No—despite its fantasy setting and epic moments, it’s a game about simple, human emotions. You can feel how much the developers care about their characters through how carefully their moments to shine are crafted. They have very human problems, and you approach them with equally human solutions—or at least find common ground with many of them. And when you can’t, it simply settles into that quiet truth: people like that exist too. So no, this is definitely not just a “poor man’s version” of something else—it confidently steps out of that shadow and stands on its own.
