Sometimes, especially with older games, simply seeing a series you love receive a decent adaptation is enough to enjoy it. I'd love for Vampire Hunter D to have an outstanding survival horror game, but unfortunately, that's not what this is. Instead, it's a fairly average game that does a respectable job of representing the series. The result is a game with a few too many prerequisites before I'd recommend it. You need to enjoy survival horror, be open to older entries in the genre, and, of course, already be a fan of Vampire Hunter D, the kind of fan who's happy just to finally have a game set in that world.
