- Open reviewCall of Duty: Vanguard is a decent Call of Duty campaign, even if it doesn’t do anything particularly new. The World War II setting has already been used many times in the series, so a lot of the experience feels familiar, but I still found the campaign enjoyable to play. The gunplay is solid and there are some good missions, with the game jumping between different fronts of the war and following a group of soldiers with different backgrounds. Some of these sections are more memorable than others, but overall I didn’t find the campaign as bad as some people make it out to be. The biggest problem is that it feels quite short and linear, and the story isn’t particularly memorable. It often feels more like a collection of classic WWII action sequences than a truly cohesive story. Still, for what it is, I had a decent time with it. Overall, a fairly average Call of Duty campaign: nothing amazing or particularly memorable, but definitely not a bad one either.
