- Open reviewElden Ring Nightreign was definitely an interesting and ambitious idea from FromSoftware. I wouldn’t call it a flop, but I do think it was a risky direction to take, especially considering how close its release was to Elden Ring. The strong focus on multiplayer, which is almost essential to fully enjoy the experience, didn’t really work for me. I also wasn’t particularly fond of the Night system and the way the game structures its progression around each run. That said, I really enjoyed the idea of bringing together iconic bosses and elements from different FromSoftware games, including Elden Ring and the Dark Souls series. It’s a cool concept and there are some genuinely great moments, but overall, the multiplayer focus and core structure just weren’t really for me.
