Cookie Notice
Firetale sets four cookies. All of them are needed to make the site work.
Last updated
No tracking, no advertising
Firetale runs no analytics and no advertising. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, no third-party tracking script and no cross-site profiling. We do not build a picture of you from your browsing.
Every cookie we set is strictly necessary to provide a service you asked for, and strictly necessary cookies do not require consent under UK and EU rules. So the small notice you see on your first visit is exactly that, a notice: there is nothing here to accept or reject, and offering a fake choice would be worse than telling you plainly what we set. It appears once and does not come back.
What we set
| Cookie | Purpose | Set by | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| Authentication | Keeps you signed in between visits and refreshes your session. | Supabase Auth | Until you sign out or the session expires |
| feed-tab-… | Remembers which feed tab you last used, so the site opens where you left it. | Firetale | Persistent, per account |
| maint_ok | Lets an operator view the site during scheduled maintenance. Only ever set for an administrator. | Firetale | 8 hours |
| password_recovery_token | Carries a password reset securely from the email link to the reset form. | Firetale | Single use, short-lived |
Other local storage
Alongside cookies, the site stores a small amount of data in your browser: your place in the Discovery Deck if you navigate away mid-session, and your scroll position in the feed. This never leaves your device and is cleared when you clear your browser data.
Turning them off
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the authentication cookie will sign you out and prevent you signing back in, since there is no other way for us to know who you are between requests.
More detail on what we collect generally is in the Privacy Policy.
